Mini Trampoline 101

A mini trampoline is a great tool to get your body moving, especially if it's been awhile since you've exercised.

Every day, we teach many people how to use this wonderful piece of equipment. A lot of our clients are surprised at what the mini trampoline is capable of doing.

Getting started is easy, but it is a little different than your average exercise equipment since you are using 100% of your body. When you jump up and down, your body contracts each cell in your body. By doing this, your lymphatic system (your immune system) is able to clean out the blood and cells.

So as not to over-load your lymphatic system, you want to start out with a light bounce for 1 to 3 minutes on your first session.  This is referred to as the "Health Bounce" or "Baby Bounce."

WHY DO I ONLY START WITH 1 TO 3 MINUTES?

For those who have been exercising regularly, you will find jumping to be very easy and be inclined to jump higher and longer. Don't be tempted to jump like a maniac. You need to help your body, especially your lymphatic system, adjust to the G-force as you jump. Remember, it cleans the cells.

If you ever get dizzy, stop immediately. This is a good indicator that your lymphatic system is having a hard time keeping up.


SCHEDULE
  • If you have not exercised for awhile: Start with 1 minute and add 1 minute a day until you reach up to 10 minutes.
  • If you range between a weekend warrior to an extreme athlete: start with 3 minutes and add 1 minute each day until you reached up to 10 minutes.
  • If your immune system is sluggish or have over a 100 lbs of weight to lose: start out with 30 seconds and add 30 seconds every 3 to 5 days until you are capable of doing 10 minutes.    

We have people call and tell us that they decided to jump 30-45 minutes on their first session and they ended up sick, some even for a few weeks. They will say, "I should have listened to you." It's not that you can't jump longer,  it's so that your body can keep up with cleaning you out. 

By staying with 1 to 3 minutes your first session, you allow your body to adjust without experiencing any unwanted effects.
