The Spinal Touch+ Method FAQ's
Answers to some of our most frequently asked questions
Answers to some of our most frequently asked questions
Who can receive The Spinal Touch+ Method?
Our youngest clients are hour and a half old babies and our oldest client is 102 years old. We see all ages in our office everyday.
Is The Spinal Touch+ Method just for pain?
Many find us because they are in pain. However, we do have quite a few clients in our office who come in to correct postural distortion by retraining the muscles to relax. (Our body builders love the effects of good posture alignment for their competitions.)
How is The Spinal Touch+ Method done? Does it hurt to have it done?
The technique is done with a very light touch, like the pressure when your touch your eyelid. You will be laying on your stomach.
What if I can't lay on my stomach?
We just have you lay on your side and do a modified version of the technique.
Can pregnant women have The Spinal Touch+ Method Technique done?
Yes. In fact, many find relief from pregnancy pain and discomfort along with severe pain like sciatica.
Will I feel achy after my session?
Since The Spinal Touch+ Method is done with a gentle touch, most feel relief right away. There is a small percentage of clients that do feel achy the next day if their muscles moved quite a bit. It's like going to the gym and feeling great and the next day feeling workout pain.
What should I wear?
You will be asked to wear a gown and keep your bottom underwear on.
How often do I have to come in?
It's like tuning piano strings. You come in for your first session and then your next session is usually 3 to 4 days later, then a week later, then a week and a half. Then you just keep spreading out the appointments because the body takes over keeping you pain free. You will never see anyone in our office three times a week otherwise the body becomes dependent on it. For maintenance, most of our clients like to come in every month, every other month or every three months just to keep their posture straight since we all have to contend with gravity and the use of technology which loves to pull the head forward.

How can you tell a true Spinal Touch Therapist?
According to Dr. Rosquist, one of the main ways to tell a true Spinal Touch Therapist is that they will ask you to keep your underwear on. If you are asked to have Spinal Touch done without anything except your gown, then you know they have not been officially trained in Spinal Touch. They were trained with some videos or someone who watched videos and taught them. Make sure you are having a true Spinal Touch therapist work on you.
Why do you call it The Spinal Touch+ Method instead of just Spinal Touch?
There is a 1920's version of this technique, a 1950's version and a 1970's version of Spinal Touch. Over the years, it has had a few name changes during those times. Judy has been taught in all of them by Dr. Rosquist. Along with some modern advances and bringing back some of the basics from previous versions, we have enhanced this technique using a more accurate way to access someone at the plumbline thereby giving us faster results than any other version. To differentiate The Spinal Touch+ Method with the older versions, we add the plus.
